On September 30th Whistler will play host to the first ever Super Proof team film – The Recruitment. Based on a true story, this full-length ski film combines a creative screenplay written by Sean Pettit, Max Hill and Leigh Powis with the talents of seven pro skiers. An untold story, Hollywood stylisation and, of course, epic ski action makes this film a must-see for the upcoming winter season.

If you’re lucky enough to be in Whistler this September the premier will be shown at the newly renovated Rainbow Theatre with an early showing at 6pm and a late one at 9pm. In between there will a chance to mingle with the Super Proof crew at Tapley’s Neighbourhood Pub where live band, The McQuaids will be playing. The after party will be at Buffalo Bills nightclub with DJ Rich A. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 on the door. Tickets can be purchased at Garfinkel’s from 12-6pm seven days a week using cash or credit, and include entry to the after party.

“The name came before the concept,” says co-director Sean Pettit. “It’s about the forgotten skiers, the ones that are now in trouble, the wasted talent and how they can, and need to be saved.”

Pettit lends his flair for Hollywood style drama and storytelling to a genre of film that has become relatively formulaic over the years. He’s also bringing together a film crew that’s new to the industry, highlighting upcoming talent in direction, editing and music.
